Good morning, We R Memory Keepers fans, Laura here today. Washi tape has to be one of my absolute favorite crafting supplies. I use it all the time in my planner, to label file folders, and for crafts. Today, I am going to show you how easy it is to make washi tape bookmarks with paperclips.
Start by gathering all your supplies. You will need a selection of washi tape, paper clips in various sizes, and the washi chomper.
First, grab a piece of washi tape about 3 to 4 inches long.
Place it through the top of the paper clip. Match up the ends together and press the washi tape together. Once you get close to the paper clip, turn the washi so it is towards the top and finish placing the washi tape together.
You want to always be sure to place your washi tape on this side of the paper clip with only one rounded edge so you can still slide the paper clip onto your papers and have your washi flag stick out the top.
Use the washi chomper to create the perfect v-shape at the end of your washi tape. This is so much easier than trying to carefully use scissors to cut the ends.
I like to do a slight variation with smaller paper clips. Start off the same way by sliding your washi tape through the top edge of the paper clip on the side.
This time, fold the washi tape in half, match up the ends, and press the washi tape pieces together while leaving it on the side of the clip.
Again, use the washi chomper to create the flag shape in the washi. The washi chomper is adjustable so you can cut just about any size washi perfectly.
I love to use these little washi tape paper clips as bookmarks since they stay put, and I don’t have to worry about them falling out of my books. I also love them to mark the week or month in my planners.
They also make an adorable gift. Simply cut a slit in the middle of a tag, attach all the paper clips in a row, and package in a clear cellophane bag.
