Hello, We R friends! Tessa Buys here! I’m lucky to be auntie to a pretty awesome niece who just had a birthday. Her party theme? Trolls! Of course, I had to contribute to her mama’s party décor:
First, I made party hats inspired by the character of Poppy. I started by using the We R Memory Keepers DIY Party Board to make hats out of pink cardstock. Next, I put double-sided tape inside the bottom of the hat, then stuck several strips of 6” wide glitter tulle to the tape. I pulled the tulle up around the hat and secured it with a ribbon sealed with the We R Memory Keepers Ribbon Cutter. To give the hats that extra “Poppy” touch, I hand cut her signature felt flowers to adorn each one.
Second, I made party blowers, again with the DIY Party Board. I used a rainbow of cardstock colors and embellished each one with another cartoony felt flower. Tip: After you’ve used the (not custom and not nearly as cute) blowers from the party store, save the blower pieces and toss the paper cones. You can glue in your own cones later!
You can’t have a birthday without banners and garlands! I made my niece a banner featuring her name with the Alphabet Punch Board. Bazzill foil cardstock made it shiny like the hats. I strung it with the same tulle I used on the hats and embellished with more Poppy-style flowers.
I also used the Banner Punch Board and the DIY Party Paper Punch: Garland to create a couple more garlands in colored cardstock. Altogether, and combined with the party décor my sister purchased in the Trolls theme, my niece had a colorful, fun, and unique party!
I love having so many easy to use and handy tools within reach to create custom party décor. How about you? Happy creating!
