Happy summer, y’all! Shellye here with a sunny card that displays actual sand from a recent trip to the beach…such a fun way to send a message back to those at home!
And since we’re using a shaker pocket for the front, you could also add small shells, sequins, etc.
I started with one of the square journal cards from the Honey I’m Home-“Real Life” patterned paper, a 4X4 Fuse Waterfall Sleeve and the Fuse Tool and Ruler. The tool was plugged in and allowed to heat.
The journal card was placed inside of the sleeve and a small amount of sand was poured on top. Using the rotary style tip and ruler as a guide, the opening of the sleeve was sealed shut. Just make sure to use an even amount of pressure as you’re guiding the tool over the plastic.
For the front of the card a 2.5” circle was die-cut from the Honey I’m Home- “Homemade” patterned paper. It was attached over the sentiment on the journal card with foam adhesive tape. The wood veneer ampersand was glued to the center of the circle.
Twilight Foam Thicker Letters were used to spell out “sun” and “sand”. Hand-cut hearts from the Honey I’m Home- “Love & Laugh” patterned paper was added alongside the ampersand and then embellished with a small gold sequin and bow made from the Ruler Studio’s Natural String.
The finished card size is 5.75” X5.75” so it will fit perfectly inside of a 6X6 envelope!
