Storytime Party Hats

Last week I shared some fun Storytime party invites  for a storybook party.  Today I’m sharing a fun and easy kids craft perfect for a storybook/fairytale birthday party–knight and princess crowns!  Whether you’ve got a house full of little girls dressed in ball gowns or future prince charming, these crowns will be a big hit and keep your party guests busy so you can catch your breath for a little while.

When your party guests arrive, you can hand them one of these and lead them to a table full of stickers, gems, and markers where they can decorate their own personalized crown to their hearts content.
Here’s how to make these crowns:
1. Punch 12×12 sheets of paper with the Lucky 8 Punch of your choice, using both the inner and outer punches.

2. Using the rotary trimmer, cut the punched out paper diagonally.

3. Use one half for the front of the crown, and the other half for a mat for the crown front and the head band.  Trim the corner off for the crown mat, and then trim about an inch and a half strip from the longest edge for the head band.

4. Adhere the mat cut from the corner to the crown front and add some letter stickers to spell the child’s name.  Staple the corners of the crown front to the head band.

I hope this idea helps inspire your future birthday party planning.  Creative cheers!
