Hello We R fans! Soraya here today to share a fun tutorial to make your own Traveler’s Notebook (TN) using the amazing Revolution cutting maching to create a shaker cover full of glitter and happiness!
First of all to make the cover, use your trimmer to cut a coral 12×12 cardstock with the following measurements : 9 ½ inches x 8 ¾ inches. I used my Premium Trimmer which I love because it is so stable and robust above all when it comes to cut several papers at once. Fold it in the middle then use the leftover of the cardstock to cut stars with your Revolution cutting machine.
I love this stars nesting set since it allows us to create star border as well ! And this is what we’re going to make now : so cut a piece of ivory cardstock with your trimmer and layer the stars closest in size so that you get the perfect border shapes for your cover. 3 stars = 3 borders.
Now with a glue stick, place them all around the stars and make sure they are very well stuck to the cover. It gives a perfect finish look to the stars, what do you think ?
On the other side, place double sided tape everywhere so that we can stick the plastic sheets as a “window”. Don’t hesitate to add more glue. Use a precision knife to take off the excess of plastic. Feel free to upcycle clear plastic scrapbook packaging to create the window!
Time to add glitters and fun to the cover! I mixed 3 types of glitters for more sparkling : yellow, gold and pink. Use a brush to wipe off the excess before sticking the cover with your glue gun. You could use adhesive tape as well but remember that this has to be very sticky so that the glitter stays in place inside the window!
How beautiful the star frames are like this ? Let’s add some thin washi tape to both parts of the windows and cut off the excess of cardstock at the bottom (since we used a leftover).
Let’s play now with the Word Punch Board and create the “summer plans” title that will perfectly fit the cover. Playing tone on tone is a fun way to add dimension.
Create more words in rainbow colors and add them inside the inner pages for more fun ! The inner pages are measuring 9 inches x 8 ¾ inches when they are not folded. Add all the colorful tabs before binding the inserts.
To bind the inserts : punch 2 small holes with the Crop-A-Dile and pass a pink thread through to them. Tie a knot and repeat the process for other inserts. The elastic of the cover should be wound twice before tying the knot inside the TN.
Insert the inner pages one per elastic and add stars and leftovers to pop up the colors. The oustide elastic is only bound around the two others so that you can easily close your TN! And voilà!
Here are your beautiful TN with shaker covers to document your favorite summer memories !
