Hello, Laura here today with a scrapbook layout you are sure to love. If you don’t know me, you might not know that I am a perfectionist. Anytime I scrapbook, I like everything to be symmetrical, evenly spaced, and straight. Sometimes it can be really hard to position everything just right. That is where the new Supreme Ruler comes in!
I started with a teal colored background paper that had a little texture. Then I cut out little one inch squares from the Maggie Holmes Chasing Dreams 6 x 6 paper pad using the Supreme Ruler and a craft knife.
I used the guides on the Supreme Ruler to space all the little squares evenly apart. Having the ruler made it so much easier than having to eyeball everything.
Then, I cut a coordinating strip of floral paper from the 12 x 12 paper pack to go along the bottom edge. I was able to place it perfectly with the Supreme Ruler.
I had a couple of little embellishment pieces that were part of the small paper pad – a small June calendar, and a little tag with a saying on it. These can be so tricky to cut just right with a regular paper trimmer. Having a clear ruler with a sharp edge made these so easy to trim straight.
I added some gold Thickers to my layout at the top and bottom to spell out “dancer” and “2017”. This was another great use of the ruler. I could get everything evenly spaced and straight on my layout. These Thickers were perfect for my layout as they have a pink edge you can see from the side.
I added a butterfly, my calendar, and the little tag along the side of my picture to balance out the layout.
This style of layout works great to use up small scraps of your favorite papers you have left over from other projects. Using papers from the same collection make it easy to coordinate the layout without a lot of fuss.
I am so proud of my little dancer. And I am proud to show off her recital picture in this pretty floral layout made easy with the Supreme Ruler.
