If you’re looking for a cute and easy way to package your Mother’s Day gift here’s a fun idea–create a washi tape pocket! These decorative little pockets can hold wallet size school photos, gift cards, small notes, or coupons. They’re super easy to make, but your recipient will love them.
I started out by covering a scrap of white textured cardstock with several strips of Washi Tape from the new Multi Color Pack. Then I die cut my shapes from the washi covered cardstock using the new Monarch and Pinwheel Shape Dies. I layered the pieces together with foam squares for added dimension.
Next I created the pockets from Inked Rose patterned papers with the Mini Pocket Template Die. Due to the shape of the pocket, the B side of my papers showed at the top but the colors didn’t match with the colors of washi tape I used, so I created inserts to cover the B sides. I simply placed a small scrap of paper at the top of the die before cutting, and then added the insert inside the pocket to cover the B side that was showing.
Do you have any crafty gift-making plans for Mother’s Day? If so, please do share.
