Hello crafty friends, it’s Lucile. Today I’m sharing how to make a disc bound mini album! I had the chance to go on vacation to Alsace with my boyfriend and I couldn’t wait to make a mini album! For this mini album I wanted to play with transparency. I wanted to use discs for the binding so I could add more pages if needed. For my album I used the Marigold collection which was perfect for the colors of my photos.
To start, I made the cover of my album. I cut two 15cm squares from a paper from the collection. On one of the squares I cut out a window. I assembled my cover on a transparent acetate to protect my window and create a 4cm pocket.
To decorate the front cover of my album I wanted to create a frame in flowers. I used the floral die cuts from the collection and I cut flowers and leaves from different papers from the collection. I had fun creating a composition by playing with the different colors. To add a realistic look, I folded some leaves.
Then I made the inside of the album. I started by cutting 12cm squares from different papers in the collection. Once my pages were cut I made my binding. I used Pearl Planner Discs. To punch my pages, I used the Disc Power Punch from We R Memory Keepers (available at Michaels Stores). It allows you to quickly and easily punch pages for inserting discs. I was able to punch several pages at the same time. Once all my pages were punched, I bound them with my discs. It’s a quick way to create album bindings. This also allows us to add a lot of pages in our albums and to add more pages if we have forgotten a photo or an anecdote.
Finally I had fun to stick my various photos and decorate my pages with different embellishments of Marigold collection.
I hope you enjoyed this mini album and gave you a new idea for easy album binding with the Power Punch Disc. I will find you very quickly for a new creation, see you soon!
