Hello We R fans! It’s Eva on the blog today showing you how to customize your Christmas ornaments with the Spin it machine.
The Spin it machine is perfect to customize tumblers and now it has a new accessory: an ornament attachment! It is very easy to use and the results are beautiful.
Prepare your Spin it machine by removing the cup attachment and inserting the ornament one. Screw the attachment all the way into the machine, so the ornament doesn’t fall while curing the epoxy.
Hold the ornament with the foam included in the kit and start decorating your ornament. I decided to paint the ornament white because I had a bright green ball, but you don’t necessarily need to do this step.
To decorate the ornament I used mica powders. Prepare some epoxy resin with the We R Epoxy Kit, 30 ml of each color was more than enough to cover all the ornament.
I divided my resin in two cups and added a small spoon of mica powder to each one. Stir the powder until the mix is even.
Now it is time for the fun part! I wanted my ornament to have different strips of color, so I turned on my Spin it machine and place the epoxy over my ball one line at a time. You don’t need to be very precise, the epoxy will move while the ornament is spinning and colors will blend beautifully.
I also added a few drops here and there, that created fun circles in my ornament! When your ornament is finished you can add some glitter; I wanted to add some, but I finally decided not to, because I wanted you to be able to see the mica powder effect perfectly.
Leave you ornament spinning 4 hours and work on your decorations in the meantime.
To decorate my ornament, I used my Bow Loom to create a fun and festive red bow. The 4 inch bow was the perfect size.
Next, I used my electronic cutting machine and the Holiday USB drive with Foil Quill designs to cut a “noel” word with white vinyl.
Using the Weeding pick tool, weed the vinyl and get it ready to transfer to the ornament.
Finally, use you USB Glue Gun to glue the ribbon to the ornament.
This ornament was fun and easy to do, the mica powders give a very nice finish, my son told me the ornament looked like a planet and he is right! I love the effect!
I hope you give this craft a go, you can include the family last name and give these as Christmas gifts, I am sure everyone will love them!
Thanks for joining me and have a great day!
