Make an Explosion Box for Valentine’s Day

Hello crafty friends, Lucile here! It’s almost Valentine’s Day! What could be better than a personalized gift to offer to the one you love? Today I suggest you make an explosion box to put your best photos and why not a little gift!
Making an explosion box is very simple and fast thanks to the Explosion Board from We R Memory Keepers.

To start I made my box. I chose the size XL. I cut a paper from the Marigold collection by Maggie Holmes and made the folds with the explosion board. Then, I made my lid by following the guide supplied with the board. It is very simple.

Then I made the decoration for my lid. I used the heart tempates provided with the board to cut hearts of different sizes from several papers. I stacked them up using 3D foams to add bulk.

Inside my box I cut out the corners in the shape of a heart. Then I cut out inserts to add sheets to my box. I used the guide from the box. I used size L and M. In the center of my box I added a photo that I like a lot but you can also slip a small gift or a badge for example.

Then, this is my favorite part: the decoration! I used different embellishments from the Marigold collection from Crate Paper. I added stickers, die cuts, words … You can decorate your explosion box as you want!

I had fun creating little hiding places by adding pockets in which I slipped tags with photos, little words … I love the principle of explosion box because when you open it you never know what to expect–it’s magic!

I hope this article has given you some gift ideas for Valentine’s Day! I can’t wait to see your explosion boxes with the Explosion Board from We R Memory Keepers. Happy Valentine’s Day and see you soon for new creations!
