Hello We R friends! It’s Meghann Andrew, and I’m happy to be back on the blog with you today to share a new layout! Summer is here, and I decided to create a new layout to record the staple activity in our long, summer days—hanging out in the pool! I wanted a BIG title to set off this page. Enter the amazing We R Memory Keepers Mini Alphabet Punch Board—the perfect tool to add an impactful word or title to your layouts!
Creating these alphas using the We R Memory Keepers Mini Alphabet Punch Board could not be any easier, using whatever cardstock or patterned paper you have on hand! On this layout, I was inspired by the colorful sunburst paper in the Let’s Wander collection from Vicki Boutin to top my background paper with alphas in the same hues as the rays of the sunburst. I gathered different patterns from Let’s Wander and the Never Grow Up collections from American Crafts to coordinate and started punching!
There is no guesswork needed with this handy tool that creates alphas that are 2.5” tall—simply follow the handy guidebook to punch any letter in the alphabet! I got to work easily cutting each patterned paper letter, then decided that these colorful letters needed to stand out against the colorful background. I grabbed a piece of Bazzill Avalanche white cardstock and punched the letters out again, adhering the patterned paper to the cardstock to create a white shadow that helped lift each letter off of the background.
The big “summer” word stretched across my layout in a colorful, perfect way to create that “wow” factor on my page, and I adhered it with foam adhesive to add dimension. I adhered the sunglasses border strip to the base of the word to give it a shelf to sit on, helping to add some weight to the base. After my title was created, the rest of the layout came together quickly using embellishments from Let’s Wander and Never Grow Up.
I have so many pool photos in my photo library, but this one worked perfectly with my colorful layout! I printed it at 3” square with a white border to help it stand out, and adhered it using foam adhesive. Around my photo, I layered patterned paper cuts, die-cuts, stickers, tags and chipboard from the Let’s Wander and Never Grow Up collections.
Because I had so much color on the page, I wanted to add a bit of contrast. I grabbed my We R Memory Keepers Nesting Heart 3-Punch Set and punched three different sizes of hearts from a dark patterned paper, giving me that contrast I needed quickly! I adhered these hearts radiating out from the base of the sunburst using foam adhesive to finish off this fun and summery page!
Be sure to grab the amazing We R Memory Keepers Mini Alphabet Punch Board to create a stand-out title on any layout you create! It’s easy, and so much fun to use, and the creative possibilities are endless!
