Make a Mermaid Card with the Mini Evolution

Hello everyone! Soraya here today to share a mermaid theme card made with the Mini Evolution by We R Memory Keepers and… ice cream dies! Yes! We’ll see how to use ice cream element to make a mermaid scale background and a tail as well! Feel free to check the creative process video on our social medias.

First of all, you will need six cardstocks with six shades of blue. Trim them to get 7cm wide stripes to fit the cutting machine. The die set comes from the fantastic “Buenos Días” collection by Obed Marshall. Cut the ice cream shape on each cardstock, you’ll need about 6 pieces from each shade.

We’ll be working on a white card measuring 12 x 10,5 cm. Start to glue each ice cream horizontally from the darkest blue to the lightest. The Express Glue by American Crafts is my favorite! Then use your scissors to trim the excess: the mermaid scale background is done!

Let’s make the mermaid tail now with a banner and a cone die. Once it’s done, grab your scissors again and shape the tail from the edge of the banner: so easy and so much fun! Attach them with glue and the mermaid tail is ready to be covered with green sequins, I love it!

Now it’s time to assemble the card with extra dies: a pink frame, a soft peach flower and two green leaves. Add a title with the alpha stickers of the collection and some floral puffy stickers. And voilà!

I hope you had fun joining me for my last project as a Design Team member! It was such an honour to create for this amazing brand with talented ladies! 4 years of crafty happiness! Thank you Aly for all the support, love and caring, you’re the best manager EVER! Take care everyone and see you on next adventures!
