Hi everyone! Soraya here today to share a merry DIY using the basic tools from We R Memory Keepers and the gorgeous DCWV Merry & Bright Christmas stack! I’m so excited to show you how I made this little house from A to Z thanks to the Supreme Ruler, the cutting knife and some white cardboard. You can find supplies for this project at Joann Stores or on their website.
This house is full of 24 little boxes I had fun to make with the 1-2-3 Punch Board! Here is how I made them : according to the chart of sizes you have on the board, I cut the papers to the right dimension before scoring them with the board. Just follow the instructions and you will see how fun and easy it is to create lots of pretty boxes!
I basically created 2 boxes of each dimension (and 4 for the first size) following the chart!
Once all the boxes were done, I placed them in a rectangle shape to see how I could fit them all in the future house. It’s like a Tetris game !
Then on a piece of paper I drew all the contours and lines that would become the “shelves” of the house ! Here is a sneak of the measures I used:
With the Supreme Ruler and the cutting knife I started cutting all the pieces I needed for making the structure of the house and the first walls. I placed them with the hot glue gun which is perfectly strong for this kind of surface.
Heres’s a tip for you: trace the lines with a pencil before using the hot glue gun to make sure everything fits well!
Don’t hesitate to place all the boxes as you go so that you can easily estimate the dimensions of the walls !
Finish the house by adding a roof out of white cardboard.
Time to decorate! In the “Merry & Bright” stack, there are some papers where you can fussycut cute designs to make your own labels. I used the Word Punch Board to make all the numbers from 1 to 24 on a black cardstock and I love how it turned out!
And here is the final Advent House ! I just loved making this project, the papers from DCWV are perfect and the We R Memory Keepers tools are always my best friends when I want to create !
I hope you had fun joining me today with this merry and bright DIY ! Happy creating everyone !
