Hello We R Fans! Kimberly here with a super simple kid’s craft, but it is full of fun! Best part about this quick project is that anyone from age 3-100 can make it! These spinning sun catchers were easy to make with the We R Memory Keepers Happy Jig. Don’t miss the special twist to these spinners at the end.
These sweet spinning sun catchers are perfect for hanging from a deck, or in a garden. The movement and colors are mesmerizing.
I started with a package of Happy Jig colored wire, along with a package of pony beads. These beads can be found in the kid’s craft section and are larger, making it easier for smaller hands and for fitting over the wire. These beads are unique however, as they are glow-in-the-dark!
To create the spinner shape, wrap the wire around a larger glass or jar. Wrap the wire around as many times as you wish. I found that 4 times around was a nice amount. That number of wraps yielded 3 spinners from one color of wire.
To keep the beads from falling off the ends, I used the smallest peg from the We R Happy Jig and wrapped one end of the wire around it. Then I strung the beads on the wire. Once the wire was full, I repeated the same process on the other end.
And here is the twist! How fun are these as they glow-in-the-dark?! When we have outdoor movies this summer, these will be a fun addition! They would also make great garden markers for the evenings.
What kind of fun outdoor decorations would you make with the We R Happy Jig?
