So far this week I’ve shared some fun Shine projects with the goal to not only showcase the beautiful papers and embellishments in the collection, but to also show you how versatile this collection is. You’ve seen an all-occasion card, a fall layout, and today I’m sharing some fun Halloween treat containers I made with the Shine collection, the Candy Box Punch Board, and the Bat and Moon Punch Die.
While the papers in this collection aren’t themed, the colors and patterns lend themselves perfectly to seasonal projects. For these candy boxes I selected papers with charcoal, golden rod, white, and grey. When combined with some seasonal dies, the papers are perfect for Halloween.
The moons on my boxes are “negative” spaces created after running the punched and scored (but still flat) boxes through my Evolution with the moon die face down on the second box panel, and the paper facing up. After cutting out the moons (which I saved for another project) I backed the negative moon spaces with scraps of goldenrod paper using foam squares for a bit of dimension. Then I die cut some bat shapes from the wood grain paper and placed them over the moon shapes, again with foam squares.
I finished off my Halloween Candy Boxes with some gold sequins for a bit of shimmer and tied the ends with natural jute twine to add to the fall feel. These would make great neighbor, teacher, friend, school, or trick-or-treat goodies.
Be sure to stop by tomorrow for our final Shine project–you won’t want to miss this one!
