Hello We R Fans! Kimberly here with a birthday invitation. Normally I think of children’s parties, when I think of invitations, but why not celebrate in style as an adult? With some great We R Memory Keepers tools and some great paper, making trendy and stylish grown-up invitations is easy!
I started by cutting a piece of patterned paper from the new Pebbles line, Simple Life. Measuring 8 ½
by 5 ½,” these dimensions will allow me to create a basic gatefold card. A gatefold card has two flaps that open to reveal the inside. One flap on the right, and one on the left.
I placed my paper in the Trim & Score Board. After cutting the paper, the cutting track was flipped over, and the turquoise flap, flipped into its place. I score the paper at 2 1/8” from the side. Then I flipped the paper over and scored 2 1/8” from the other side. That leaves the paper at exactly 4 ¼” when closed, the size of a basic A2 card.
To keep the gatefold card closed, I cut a piece of patterned paper measuring 2” by 12.” That paper was scored 3 7/8” from each end. It was folded around the card. Adhesive was used to keep the band together on the back side. I created an extra-small bow with the 1-2-3 Punch Board. Because the band is meant to slide off, adding the bow to the front added a festive feel. Along with that sentiment sticker from the Simple Life collection.
After lining the inside of the invitation with more patterned paper, I typed the invitation wording with the Typecast. What a fun touch!
I lined up the first two words and typed the rest based off its position. Once the paper gets slightly higher, don’t forget to slide those black rollers over the paper. It keeps things lined up perfectly!
To send off the invitation, I used the 1-2-3 Punch Board to create an envelope with coordinating papers from the same collection.
Who is thinking maybe celebrating a grown-up birthday might not be so bad? What kind of invitations would you make?
