Five Scrapbook Page Ideas

Happy National Scrapbook Day from We R Memory Keepers

Hello friends! We hope you’re enjoying all the scrapbooking inspiration on the blog this week. Since Saturday is National Scrapbook Day we thought today we’d share five scrapbooking tips or ideas to help jumpstart your creativity. So grab a cuppa, sit back and enjoy our scrapbooking roundup.

1. Create your own page background and accents

Using your craft tools, you can create a custom page background and embellishments for your scrapbook page. On this lovely Mother’s Day layout, designer Becki Adams created her own woven paper background and beautiful paper rosettes with the Fringe and Score Board. What’s so awesome about this tool is you can cut or score multiple 1 inch or 1/2 inch increments at the same time. What a time saver! You’ll have more time to make those precious memories.

2.  Make sprinkle shaker pockets

We love this clever twist on the shaker pocket trend by designer Eva Pizarro! She used the DIY Party Sprinkle Punch to make sprinkles for the pockets, and then incoporated the pockets into her eye-catching sunburst design. With the Stitch Happy sewing machine she added the perfect finish with definition and texture.

3. Add additional journaling with mini envelopes

Adding mini envelopes made with the Mini Envelope Punch Board not only allows extra room for meaningful journaling, but it also creates a pretty cool design element! We love that Nancy Damiano was able to tell such a special story using this technique on her scrapbook layout.

4. Include memorabilia on your scrapbook page

Memorabilia Scrapbook Page with the Heatwave heat tool by Chantalle McDaniel for We R Memory KeepersDesigner Chantalle McDaniel created the perfect backdrop to showcase her son’s sports awards on this scrapbook page. She used coordinating colors and added some shimmer with the gold letters she made with the Alphabet Punch Board and Mini Alphabet Punch Board. The unique blue metallic background was made with the Heatwave pen and some blue metallic sheets. This layout is #1 in our book!

5. Add some mixed media flair to your Father’s Day page title

If your patterned paper is a bit too bold for the look of your scrapbook layout, try delving into some mixed media! Use a white paint wash to tone down the brightness of your paper. We love how designer Soraya Maes softened her Mini Alphabet Punch Board letters with some paint, and then gave them some definition by outlining them with black marker. We also love the layering effect she created with the Frame Punch Board.

Thanks for stopping by today. We hope you’ve found some scrapbooking inspiration and ideas for National Scrapbook Day this weekend. Enjoy the rest of your week, and happy crafting friends!
