Hello We R Fans! Kimberly here today with a cute and yummy card for Father’s Day. After seeing quite a few candy ties online, I got to thinking that I had a pretty fantastic tool from We R Memory Keepers that would make creating a candy tie awfully easy. I sat down at the computer and drew out a tie template, while my We R Memory Keepers Fuse Photo Sleeve Tool heated up!
This tie was created to be filled with candy. It’s a fun treat to add to a special card for a special dad in your life.
After printing out the tie template, it was traced onto patterned paper. Because I was using Pink Paislee Wild Child 6×6 patterned paper, I had to trace it in two parts. Any other sized patterned paper will work perfectly.
After cutting out the tie image, the left-over paper was placed on a Fuse Mat, under a Fuse Clear Sheet. This was done to create a template to work from to create a candy holder.
By following along the inside of the template with the Fuse, the candy holder will fit perfectly. DO NOT seal the top of the tie yet, or there will not be an opening for the candy to be placed inside.
Before adding the candy, adhere the clear candy holder to the patterned paper tie. If done after it is filled, it makes it difficult to adhere the full candy holder to the paper, and subsequently, the card.
To help get the candy inside the pocket, a We R Memory Keepers Embossing Stylus was used to push the candy down inside. (Do not worry, it was washed before using.)
Once the candy holder was full, the clear part was placed onto the Fuse mat, and the patterned paper was tucked underneath the mat. Using the Fuse, the top was then sealed.
What kind of candy would you fill your tie with?
