Good Monday morning crafty friends! Aly here with you today. A Mermaid Party is the perfect way to celebrate a birthday, shower, or other special occasion during the summer months. Since all things mermaid are so popular right now, there’s plenty of inspiration online.  I decided to dive in to this nautical trend, and I’m excited to share some easy DIY Mermaid Party Decor I created.
To make this Mermaid Party I pulled out some of my trusty We R tools to help simplify things. My DIY Party Board, Scallop Goodie Bag Guide, Word Punch Board, and Happy Jig did the trick.
I started with the party hats, picking out some ombre paper from the DCWV Spring Bloom stack. Then I used the DIY Party Board to make the hats.
I downloaded a free mermaid tail template online, and cut out the tails from some gold foil paper. Then I added them to the top of the hats with some dimensional adhesive dots.
Next I made the favor bags using the Scallop Goodie Bag Guide and some ombre papers from the Oh Goodie collection.
I created wire mermaids with the Happy Jig and some gold wire to embellish them.
I added a couple of die cut tropical leaves, and a sentiment I made with the Word Punch Board. I backed the word with some plain white cardstock to make the letters pop. I cut a banner shape in the end of the strip with the Washi Chomper and then stapled it to the bag with my Staple Board.
You can fill these favor bags with gummy fish, goldfish crackers, small toys, bubbles, or whatever else you’d like to give your mermaid party guests.
I hope these Mermaid Party Decor Ideas have inspired you. Thanks for stopping by, and be sure to come back each day this week for more beach themed project ideas and tutorials. Happy crafting friends!
