This week on the We R blog it’s all about weddings. We’ll be sharing ideas for invitations, decor, gift ideas, and more for that special day. DIY weddings are not only budget friendly, but they’re customizable and trendy to boot! Let’s kick things off with a simple and pretty DIY Doily Wedding Invitation.
I started out by picking a typewriter font to get a slightly rustic feel. I opened a new canvas in Photoshop and added the text. Once I printed the invite and RSVP on kraft cardstock, I die cut a doily from Farmer’s Market distressed white paper using the Classic Doily Shape Die and added only a small part of it to the top of the invite and RSVP card.
Then I added a length of Aqua Baker’s Twine and tied it in a bow at the top. I love the contrast of the kraft paper with the white die cut doily and baker’s twine–a little rustic, and a little feminine.
I used my Envelope Punch Board to create a matching envelope and lined it with the doily envelope liner die. My invitation and envelope are 5″x7″. I also included an RSVP card and return envelope that are both 4″x 5 1/2.
These easy to make doily wedding invites are simple yet beautiful. Come back and visit tomorrow for some more wedding inspiration!
