Creative Mini Albums for Wedding Gifts

If you are like me, I am always looking for new and interesting ways to create mini albums. I made several of these a few years ago and when I saw the Storytime line I knew this style would be perfect for what I needed to do. My husband’s cousin is getting married this winter so I thought I would make her a cute little album to display some photos leading up to the marriage. The way this album folds up like a book really matching the feel of this line. Once you see how simple this album is to make you are sure to be making them all the time.

Products your are going to need:

4- 12×12 pieces of cardstock, 2 in one color and 2 in another (I used Gravestone from the Black Widow line and Snow from the Winter Frost line)

Patterned paper (I used Jack, Goldilocks, Gretel, Little Red Riding Hood, and Rumplestiltskin from the Storytime line)

Extra embellishments for decorating your album (I used Storytime Layered Chipboard, Storytime Embossed Stickers, Storytime Journal and Once Embossed tags)

Okay let’s get started. First take your base cardstock and cut one at 6 x 12 and 3 at 5 3/4 x 12.

With your second color of cardstock cut one at 5 x 12 and 6 at 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 (You will be need 5 of these).

Now you are going to take the pieces that you cut to 5 3/4×12 and score them at 3inches and 9inches. Fold at the score marks and using the piece scored at 9inches from one sheet and adhere it to one of the pieces at the 3inch score mark.

With this new piece adhere it from the 9inch score to the 3inch score on the last sheet.

Fold the flaps over on both sides and then fold it all in creating your mini album part.

Take your 6×12 sheet and score it at (2 3/4″) – (3″) – (9″) – and (9 1/4″) fold and crease. This will be the start of your cover.

Using your 5 1/2×5 1/2 squares attach this to the front cover flap and attach one to the back side. Repeat on the other side.

On the back side of your mini add adhesive and attach in the center of your crease lines on the 6×12 cardstock.

Score your 5×12 cardstock at 5″ and 8 1/2″ fold and crease. Open up your mini and attach this piece in the middle for your opened center page. If you want to keep it as an accordion fold you can, I chose to adhere the two flaps so that if only opens once. This is entirely up to you.

Now take your ribbon and attach it to the back cover allowing enough on both sides to come across the front and tie in a bow. Using your last 5 1/2x 5 1/2″ square adhere it to the back side covering up the ribbon.

Your album is almost complete, all you need to do is decorate it and add photos!
