Creating a Removable Decorative Paper Band Using a WRMK Edge Punch

Hello friends! It’s Victoria (@victoriamariescraps) and I am back with a fun project using the We R Memory Keepers Scallop Daisy Edge Punch! As a scrapbooker and card maker, edge punches have been my go-to tool for many years. Today, I am going to share a stunning A2 size card featuring a removable decorative paper band that will wrap around the entire card!

To begin, select coordinating materials to include card stock, a 4.25 x 5.5 inch card base, a 4 x 5.25 inch card panel, embellishments, and a We R Memory Keepers Edge Punch of your choice. I am using the Scallop Daisy Edge Punch for this project.

Trim a band of pattern paper to 2 x 12 inches. Make sure the band is big enough to wrap around the entire card base. Begin with one punch (I usually start in the middle of the paper band), then move the paper band so that the punched design aligns with the pattern on the punch base. This will ensure that you get perfect alignment and that the punched design is even and consistent. Repeat this step along both sides of the paper band.

Assemble the card base by adding the card panel. Next, wrap the paper band around the card. Be sure that the paper band has enough give so it can be removed by the receiver. Lastly, adhere the embellishments to the paper band only, not the card base.

The paper band and the embellishments are adhered as one complete unit! Repeat these steps to create a variety of stunning decorative bands using a We R Memory Keepers Edge Punch.

Alternatively, you can adhere a decorative paper band directly to a card panel as shown in the card example below.

I love how the We R Memory Keepers Edge Punches add so much elegance to a card. I hope you are inspired to create decorative paper bands for your next creative project! Thanks for stopping by!
