Hello crafty friends! It’s Aly here today sharing some card inspiration. I love making handmade cards and sharing them with friends. I collect them in baskets and then pull one out whenever I have the need. It adds that extra special touch when I need to share something with a friend or loved one. I also love how helpful We R tools are for cards. They make the creative process faster and more fun!
Check out this festive Halloween card I made using the Pink Paislee Spellcast collection, the new Clear Cut Circle Punch, and some of my other favorite tools!
I started by trimming my card layers, and trimming and scoring my card base with the Dial Trimmer. It’s so convenient to have multiple blades in one tool!
Next I used the Circle Clear Cut Punch to create a shaker pocket window on my card. Then I punched out a 3×4 inch frame with the Frame Punch Board and placed it around the shaker pocket.
I added some sequins and acrylic shapes to a 2×2 pocket from the FUSEables card kit, and then sealed it shut with the Photo Sleeve Fuse.
I added a stitched border around the shaker window with my Stitch Happy and some Gold Metallic Thread. Tip: to sew the circle border I traced it lightly with a pencil first, and then sewed it by rotating the handwheel to control the speed.
Finally, I assembled and embellished my card with a few stickers and die cuts. I tied some Gold Metallic Stitch Happy Thread around the sentiment to add emphasis.
What I love about the new Clear Cut Punches is that you can punch anywhere on your paper. I’m excited to try this technique with the other shape punches! Thanks for joining me today, and happy cardmaking friends!
