Hey there We R friends, Laura here today. This summer has flown by for us and I can hardly believe it is almost time for school to start again. Our summer was a busy one. We moved from our first home we lived in for over 13 years to a new house. I don’t have any time for scrapbooking right now, so I thought a fun traveler’s journal spread showing some of our favorite summer memories would do the trick!
I started by gathering all my favorite Journal Studio supplies which included the travel workspace loaded up with some die cuts, pens, washi tape, and a blank notebook. I also got out the Journal Studio stickers and embellishment organizer.
I trimmed down a sentiment from the Amy Tangerine Stay Sweet papers using my scissors and the mini trimmer. I love using the mini trimmer for journals and traveler’s notebooks since all my elements need to stay small on the page.
I created a list of some of the fun things I could remember off the top of my head on a sticker from the pack. Then, I went through my photos on my phone and created a photo collage in Canva that I printed out on cardstock and then trimmed to fit.
I used more of the Amy Tangerine paper to create a mat for my photo collage. I added the dates onto a pineapple die cut.
I wrote directly onto the journal notebook about how busy our summer has been with moving, but how we are still trying to squeeze some fun out of our summer.
Watermelon and pineapple accents completed my embellishments for the layout.
I love how this layout turned out. It is a quick snapshot of our summer that helps me to remember what we did as a family for the summer.
I can’t wait to do more spreads for winter, spring, and fall for this year to add to my notebook. It will be a great jumpstart to remembering everything when I have a little more time to do some full scrapbook layouts.
