Happy Monday We R fans! It’s Birthday Week here on the blog, which means all week we’ll be sharing birthday projects and inspiration–from decor, to favors, to invites, and more–so be sure to visit often. We’re going to kick this week off with a dots-themed party set.
Picking a design theme to carry through all your party paper crafts is a great way to create a sense of unity and cohesion at your party. For this set I chose a dots theme and repeated that pattern throughout my projects. To create the gift box I dry embossed a piece of 6×6 textured cardstock after I had used a brayer to coat the inside top of the embossing folder with ink. Designer Tip: the ink cleans up easily with a baby wipe, or by rinsing the folder thoroughly in warm water.
Then I used my Gift Box Punch Board to create a small box for party favors, adding some Baker’s Twine and a Hip Hip Hooray Embossed Sticker.
For the invite I used another inking technique to get the opposite effect. This time I dry embossed a 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 inch piece of textured cardstock with the smaller dot embossing folder, and then I gently rubbed my ink pad directly over the raised design.
I used the Rings Cupcake Liner Die and a Label It Kit die to cut the pieces out of some Hip Hip Hooray Wish Patterned Paper for the cupcake.
See what other repeated patterns you can come up with–We R offers so many different and beautiful design for their Letterpress, Embossing Folders, and Dies that you’re sure to find something to fit your party theme.
