Birthday Week: Cake Topper

Take your birthday party decor to the next level by extending your crafting supplies and skills to include your food. I made this festive birthday cake even more fun by adding a die cut cake topper.

To create this cake topper I used the Banner Shape Dies to make the background, adding some patterned paper behind the cut out designs. I added a few Hip Hip Hooray Embossed Stickers, and then I strung the banners onto some Baker’s Twine.

Next I cut out some letters from the Hip Hip Hooray 6×6 Paper Pad using the new Strung Alphabet Dies. I threaded those together using a hand sewing needle and double strands of Red Sew Easy Floss.

I also used the tip of the needle to poke out the centers of the die cut holes in the alphas. I tied them all together to some bamboo skewers and stuck them into the birthday cake.

Try using your craft supplies to add fun decor to the food at your next party!
