Laura here today to kick off Birthday week! I am excited to share with you how to create these adorable birthday treat bags. They can be used as favors or to place a small gift inside for someone special.
I started by using the Goodie Bag Guide and the DCWV Celebration cardstock stack. This paper stack has all the papers you need to create any kind of birthday party favor, card, decoration, or scrapbook layout. I wanted a bag that was 3.5” wide by 4.5” tall, so I trimmed my paper to eight inches wide.
Then, I used parts A, C, and D of the Goodie Bag guide to create my bags.
These papers are cute enough to use by themselves, but I wanted to dress up them up a little bit. I used my banner punch board to create a little mini banner piece for each bag. I trimmed each strip of coordinating paper using my paper trimmer. Then, I used the punch board to create a v-shape in the bottom. Lastly, I trimmed the banner piece to fit my treat bag.
I attached the mini banner and a Pebbles Birthday Wishes ephemera to each of the bags using sticky thumb adhesive.
Then, I used the Happy Jig to create some cute little embellishments to attach to the bag. I created the word “Happy” using the instructions in the book and some of the baker’s twine wire.
With the baker’s twine wire you need to use a little glue or tape at the ends to keep the twine from fraying and coming off the wire. I simply used a little dab of hot glue on each end.
I created the word happy and a heart shape out of twine. I used the blue color wire to create an adorable ice cream cone. It matches perfectly with the ice cream paper. The instructions can be found on the Happy Jig Instagram page.
These little bags are the perfect favors to give your guests for a special birthday bash! And they would be perfect for filling with a few small treats for a cute birthday gift.
I love how the paper, happy jig embellishments, and the ephemera coordinate so well together.
