Hello and good morning, We R Memory Keeper’s readers! Laura here with a fun, festive holiday banner to help you believe in the magic of the season. I love creating banners for each and every holiday. Using the alphabet punch board makes it really easy to create a word banner in just minutes.
I started by trimming my textured red cardstock to 3 inches by 5 inches.
I created each letter of the word ‘BELIEVE’ using the alphabet punch board and the easy to follow instruction guide. I love how simple it is to use the alphabet punch board.
To make the letters more festive, I used the holiday font punch on each letter. The guides marked on the punch make it easy to line up the punch perfectly with each letter.
I used the DIY Party garland punch to create red and white circles to go on either end of my banner. I made a total of five circles for each end of the banner. You could easily add more if you needed a longer banner for your decorating.
So the background wouldn’t show through on my letters, I trimmed plain white cardstock to fit behind each one where I had used the holiday font punch. Now, no matter where I hang it, you won’t see anything through the letters.
To connect the banner together, I used the link punch to create slits in each side of the letters. I punched white links to connect each letter together. Since the letter L and I were so far apart, I used two links, instead of just one, and connected them with a brad.
The punched out letters remind me of the part in the movie, Polar Express, where the conductor punches each person’s ticket with his hole punch. And since I chose the word believe, I think it seemed very fitting.
