Beach-Themed Summer Wreath

If you need some summer home decor ideas, look no further than your own scrapbooking supplies.  Dig into your stash and you’ll be surprised at what you can create with your favorite papers and embellishments.  Whether or not a trip to the beach is in the cards for you this summer, you can get into the sand, sun and surf spirit with this fun beach-themed summer wreath.

To create this wreath you’ll need to cut a 14″ circle from a large poster board or piece of cardboard.  Cut about fifty 2×7 inch strips of patterned paper, fold them over and hot glue the ends together.  (Be careful not to crease the fold.)
Hot glue the folded strips around the poster board base, creating 2-3 layers.  Offset the layers to get full coverage.
Once you’ve finished gluing on the folded strips, decorate the center with paper punched with your favorite circle shaped Lucky 8 punch.  Cut pieces from the punched papers to create the sun, sand, and water.  Add layered chipboard and embossed stickers to embellish the wreath.

Hot glue a length of ribbon or trim to the back of the wreath for hanging.  Enjoy!
