Hello, We R friends, Laura here today with a fun invitation idea for your next beach or pool party. Sandy beaches and big waves make me think of going to the beach to celebrate. Recreate the beach with textured cardstock and some We R tools and you will have these Beach Party Invitations created in a snap!
Start by trimming the sand colored cardstock to 4” x 6” with the trim & score board.
Use the wave tear guide tool to create waves on light and dark teal blue cardstock. I used the large size waves for the dark teal cardstock and the small size wave for the lighter cardstock.
If you are having trouble tearing your paper you can use the water pen that comes with the tear guides to make it easier to tear.
Cut the wave papers to 4” wide and varying heights to look like layered waves on the paper. Attach them to the sand colored cardstock with adhesive.
Use the circle clear cut punch to cut out a circle sun from yellow cardstock. Attach to the corner of the paper and then trim the excess so it is flush with the edges.
Use the word punch board to spell out the word BEACH from a colorful patterned paper. This striped paper is from the DCWV Playful Icons stack. Trim the strip to 5/8” tall using the trim & score board.
Then, use the word punch board to spell out the letters PARTY. This time I glued the individual letters rather than the paper strip to the invitation. Punch your paper and then open the bottom of the punch board to get the letters out.
I found it easiest to simply rub the back of the letters over a glue stick and then place them on the paper than trying to mess with liquid glue for these tiny letters.
If you are having trouble picking up the letters, the Quickstik craft tool helps to grab them from the bottom of the word punch tray.
You can then write or print out the party details and attach it to the back of the invitation. Slip it in an envelope and it is ready for mailing out to your beach party guests. This theme would be cute for a pool party invitation as well. Simply change the word BEACH to POOL.
Since it takes a little bit of time to glue the individual letters onto the invitations, if you had a lot of invitations to make, I would use two strips for the words – one for BEACH and one for PARTY rather than gluing each individual letter.
Now, let’s head to the beach!
