Hello crafty friends, Lucile here for a new DIY! Today I present to you my new pen storage! It’s back to school soon and being a teacher I needed new pencil storage for my class. I didn’t want to buy the traditional black or white pencil storage, so I present to you my 100% DIY version!
To make pencil storage I used tin cans. I needed storage for my pens and one for my brushes.
To decorate my storage I used my mini alphabet punch board. It is very practical. I often use it to make decorations, displays or even banners for my class. It allows me to decorate my storage and label what is inside.
It is very easy to use. It contains a guide that lets you know how to make each letter of the alphabet. I cut rectangles the size indicated in the guide and I cut all my letters in white paper.
Then I chose two papers from Paige Evans’ Go the Scenic Route collection to cover my cans and glued my letters with 3D foams.
To make my pen storage I used a very colorful paper in pink and yellow tones. What I love about Paige Evans’ collection is that it can match a lot of themes. It is perfect for back to school, it contains lots of illustrations like bags, notebooks, pens … I had fun sticking stickers, die cuts and cutting out illustrations from papers from the collection. I stuck them between my letters to decorate them. I chose to cut my letters in a white paper to make a contrast with the collection “Go the Scenic Route” that is very colorful.
For my brush storage I really wanted to decorate it with butterflies. To match my pen storage I also add some school supply stickers. I didn’t put a lot of decoration because I wanted my text to be easily visible.
I hope you enjoyed my DIY for making your own pencil holders. I find the mini alphabet punch board great for back-to-school DIYs, I can’t wait to see your creations. I wish you all a nice back to school, see you soon!
