Hello friends! Tazhiana Gordon here. I am so excited to share my first project for the We R Memory Keepers Design Team and today, I am playing with the Button Press! This is a really fun and innovative tool that can have so much use in our craft areas beyond making buttons that we and all of our loved ones can wear. For my project, I decided to use it to make customizeable flair buttons to add dimension and shine to my scrapbook layout.
After playing with the tool a few times, I thought it would be a ton of fun to use the flair buttons that I was making with the Button Press as flower centers, so I pulled out my stash of Paige Evans’ Go The Scenic Route papers and a few cutfiles and cut out five layered flowers using my Silhouette machine. Next, I assembled my buttons using the same patterns that I used for the flowers and the smallest button size. This tool is pretty intuitive and after reading the instructions twice, I felt like I could have made buttons out of anything! It was actually a lot of fun to play with and I made my five buttons for my flower centers in no time.
After assembling my buttons and my layered flowers, I stitched some stems using green embroidery floss and began working on my photo cluster. I matted my photo on some of the scraps from the papers I used for my flowers, added some pieces from the ephemera and journaling packs as well as some cardstock stickers from the sticker sheet. I chose to pop a few elements up on foam to balance out the height from the flair buttons on the center of my flowers. Finally, I added a title using the small puffy alphabet stickers and that completed the layout!
The Button Press is such a fun and innovative tool and one that I know I will enjoy playing with for some time. I’ve already started making flair buttons for future projects as well as buttons to give to my family and friends, so if you’re on the fence, consider giving it a try! I hope you enjoyed the layout and it inspires you to tell your own story today.
