4th of July Resin Spoons with the Mold Press

It’s almost that time of the year… the time where we see blue, red and stars everywhere… well, not we… but you… 🙂 Even though I don’t live in the United States, I love everything 4th of July and would love to celebrate it in the USA one day!! Well, the colors of the Luxembourgish flag are red, white and blue, soooo, I think I could use my new project here too, haha…:)

I received the Mold Press a while ago but never really had the opportunity to use it and create something fun with it. So last weekend I was thinking about what I would do for my new project and I decided that I would create fun spoons in red and blue, with glitter and stars, that you could use for your 4th of July parties.

I wanted to create two molds with two spoon shapes, in which I could pour resin into. I didn’t want to use real spoons to make the molds, because the concave shape of the spoon would create this big hole where the resin would run into and create this big, fat weird shape that you would never be able to eat from… LOL! So I decided to create flat spoons. I used three ice-pop sticks that I stuck to each other and then made an oval shape with some fun foam.

I put those on my Mold press and “pressed away”… haha! I was really stunned by the result, as the molds looked exactly like flat spoons. I used those molds to pour my resin into.

I mixed four little quantities of resin and added different colors and glitters to each one. I used blue and red colors, little silver stars, blue and red glitter and flakes. With the rest of the resin, I also created a number 4.

That was really it, super easy! I waited for 24 hours for the resin to harden, took the spoons out of the molds and tadaaaa!!! Super cute 4th of July spoons to eat ice cream with.

I hope you like this idea and I wish everyone fun celebrations with friends and family and tons of good food.

Thanks for stopping by,
