Hello We R fans, and happy Friday! It’s Aly with you again today sharing an easy and fun summer kids craft that you can make with your DIY Party Board and some paper from your scrapbook stash. I found this project on the Idea Room blog HERE. When I saw these fans, I immediately thought of the DIY Party Board, and knew this awesome tool would make these fans a snap!
This project is easy for kids to make, and requires supplies that you’ve likely already got on hand.
Plus, they’re perfect for the warm summer months!
Start by placing your 12×12 paper into the DIY Party Board with the corner placed into the alignment guide.
Place your A and C cutting guides at numbers 11 and 7 on the board, respectively.
Cut along each guide with your blade so that you end up with the shape shown in the photo below.
Punch a hole in the ends of 5 wooden craft sticks (or popsicle sticks) with the Crop-A-Dile using the 1/8th inch punch.
Then stack them up and thread a metal brad through the holes, bending the ends of the brad so that it stays in place.
Fan out the popsicle sticks that that they’re evenly spaced with the outside sticks placed near the edges of the paper you just cut. Hot glue the sticks to the back of the paper with the front of the brad facing down.
Once the glue is dry, stack the sticks on top of each other, folding the paper and creasing it as you go.
You can change out the paper for whatever event or occasion you’re celebrating. The kids would love picking out their own patterns and colors of paper.
I chose papers from the fun summer-themed Oasis collection from our sister brand, Crate Paper. I just love those flamingos!
Thanks for joining me today, and happy summer crafting!
